Gabriella Wyke is an artist and photographer from Trinidad and Tobago whose professional experience spans working as a freelance photographer, photography mentor and art juror. Most of her work
As the daughter of a now retired military officer, Wyke has learned to adapt to new environments as she and her family moved multiple times throughout her father's military career. During this period of her life, she was exposed to many cultural experiences which she admits has had a tremendous impact on her development and growth as an artist.
In 2017, Wyke chose to pursue a degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia where she later graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography.
Some of her photography has been recognized globally by the likes of Fujifilm USA, the Eddie Adams Workshop and the Boynes Artist Award who honored her as their 6th edition, first place winner in 2022. Consequently, that award helped to facilitate the completion of the Nocefresca artist residency in Sardinia, Italy in 2023 where she continued her photo documentary, Her Voice (a project which highlights women's opinions on the topic of gender-based violence)
She was later awarded the Trinidad and Tobago National Youth Award for Youth Service and Humanitarianism for her work on the same project that now includes photographs and contributions from 70+ women represented in two different countries across the world.
Currently, Wyke runs her own photography studio, Gifts from Gab Studios Limited in West Trinidad where she continues to work as a freelance photographer and mentor to upcoming photographers through her very own Gifts From Gab Photography Mentorship Program.
